2020年１月11日（土）午後２時より、南郷晃子氏（神戸大学）による講演「岡山の武家と怪異譚」が開催されました。講演は、津山藩主であった森家・松平家の時代を素材として、津山城下におけるいくつかの怪異譚を扱ったものです。

　近世の地方説話集には、しばしば「主人の暴虐により無残な死を遂げた人がいたことから、やがてそれが藩主の夭逝や交替の原因となる」という筋のものが見られます。こうした筋を分析することにより、人民が藩主の存在の象徴として城を見ていたこと、しかし城内の動きは見えないために怪異の起こる空間がしばしば城内と城外の境界に位置すること、虐げられた人民の側に政治を動かす力があることなどの事実が指摘されていきました。

　講演は興味深く聞いて頂けたようで、終了後の「何でも聞いてみよう」のコーナーでは、多くの質問が寄せられ、丁寧な回答がなされました。貴重な時間を与えて頂いた南郷晃子氏には、重ねて御礼を申し上げます。

　We had a special lecture by Nangoh Kohko (a researcher at Kohbe university), "The Relationship between the Samurai warriors of Feudal Clans and the Ghost stories in Early modern Okayama prefecture", from 14:00 on 11th, January, 2020,  at S101 room of Shujitsu university.
　The lecturer has investigated and analyzed many ghost stories collected and edited in early modern Okayama prefecture, especially the stories on Mori and Matsudaira family of Tsuyama feudal clan lived in Tsuyama citadel.

　In many collections of narrative tales through early modern Japan, we can read some similar stories like that general people were slaughtered by powerful persons and were reborn as evil ghosts to make some curse on assailants, and it caused premature death or dismiss of feudal lords.

　The lecturer derived some conclusions from these stories, people regarded the citadel as the symbol of feudal lords, the scenes of ghost stories often placed in border areas of the citadel because people were not able to see and guess the inside, the oppressed people paradoxically had the power to change the administrations in feudal clans and so on. 

　After the lecture the audience earnestly asked many questions and the lecturer kindly answered for them. We are grateful for the lecturer to give us very meaningful and impressive time.
