Graduate School of Humanities, Master's Program in Humanities

The Graduate School of Humanities (Master's Course) of Shujitsu University has consisted of only the master's program in Humanities since 2016. This graduate school develops profound academic and cultural knowledge with respect for humanity and global perspectives, based on the educational philosophy of "Kyoka-Shujitsu."
We aim to foster individuals who have the professional ability to contribute to society by commanding their high expertise as well as the advancement of academics and culture in the majoring studies.

Three Master's Program Features

In the field of language, culture, and history, students study Japanese literature, British and American literature, historical science, etc., based on which they can acquire advanced licences as high school/junior high school teachers.

In the field of expression, practice, and application of history, a group of courses focusing on expression, practice, and application is provided for further improvement in graduate school education, in other words, development of human resources beneficial to society.

The two fields are not closed courses, but rather represent the type of subjects. Thus, students can choose courses from both fields as they wish.

The Graduate School of Humanities of Shujitsu University enhances students' ability of study in each field by providing them with profound knowledge from a broad perspective. We also aim to develop human resources capable of addressing current complicated issues by improving their expression and application abilities necessary in today's society.

Graduate School of Education, Master's Program in Education

Our pedagogy courses allow students to acquire an advanced license. Our psychological courses cultivate clinical psychology professionals (certified public psychologists and certified clinical psychologists) who excel in working with children.
Students belong to one of these courses to study specific themes while learning the latest theories of educational practice and support, and complete a master's thesis.

Master's Program Features

Practical training at the Shujitsu Kodomo-en, an affiliated kindergarten and daycare center, and Shujitsu Clinical Psychology Center on campus, as well as at elementary and junior high schools, educational support centers, and psychiatric and pediatric departments in Okayama City, provides learning environments where students will improve their practical abilities and also integrate theory and practice while reexamining the challenges of their study on site.

Pedagogy Courses:

Students study early childhood education, elementary education, special needs education, school health care and education, and they can acquire an advanced license for each specialty.
Students will acquire the abilities of educational practice and research promotion to "teach, guide, support, and care" by integrating the theory and action of educational practice and support.

Psychological Courses:

Educational Clinical Psychology
・Qualification for the Certified Public Psychologist Examination※
・Qualification for the Certified Clinical Psychologist Examination
Students will improve their practical ability in clinical psychology under the enthusiastic instruction of faculty members with broad clinical experience in school counseling, medical care, industry, and other fields.

Human Resource Development and Other Purposes of Education and Study at the Graduate School of Clinical Pharmacy

We aim to develop human resources with leadership, who have strong ethics as medical professionals, advanced expertise and excellent research ability to contribute to scientific development and human health and welfare.

Qualification:Ph.D. (Clinical Pharmacy)

The Graduate School of Clinical Pharmacy aims to develop individuals with the following abilities for optimal medical care for patients.

  1. To address various problems in the medical field and social needs based on scientific evidence.
  2. To contribute to the best and latest pharmaceutical therapy in the team approach to medical care.
  3. To challenge themselves to elucidate the pathogenic mechanism of intractable diseases and develop new drugs.
  4. To work for drug discovery and rearing based on information from the medical frontline.
  5. To support patients both mentally and physically, considering their psychological distress.

Master's Program Features

The Graduate School of Clinical Pharmacy cultivates human resources who find solutions to clinical problems at medical sites with high expertise and excellent research ability, based on the knowledge and experience developed through the study in pharmaceutical sciences. We also cultivate students' ability to propose new therapies based on scientific evidence in order to provide the best pharmaceutical treatment.
